We came across this article, which deals with a new concept on patent search. This concept is in the very early stage but we think that this could, in the near future, change common patent search techniques: Enhanced patent search through "visual patent image searches".
So what's this really about?
Normally when we search for patents, we search in the texts of a patent, e.g. abstract, claims etc. The new concept however, looks at searching the images of patent applications.
