Image removed.On Thursday, March 28, 2019, Mr TETANG TCHINDA Josué, Intellectual Property Agent holding three certifications of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO); INFOCOM Manager and Facilitator of the Technology Innovation and Support Center (TISC) of CARBAP, led a conference at the Regional Center for Research and Innovation of the Littoral region (CRRI-LT) on the theme "Management of intellectual property: a strategic issue for Cameroon's research and economic development institutions ".

This event was part of the scientific animation conferences organized regularly by CRRI Littoral.

This conference was chaired by Dr. ETAME SONE Lucien, Head of CRRI Littoral.

The participants included independent researchers specialised in traditional pharmacopoeia were the majority, Marketing managers, the Directors of small businesses; the researchers from the various institutions under the supervision of the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation (MINRESI), namely the Institute for Medical Research and Study of Medicinal Plants (IMPM), the Agricultural Research Institute for Development (IRAD) and CRRI-Littoral. The Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises was represented by the Regional Delegate for the Littoral. She was accompanied by the Officer in charge of the Small and Medium Enterprises.

After presenting the general notions of the Intellectual property, Mr TETANG TCHINDA Josué enlightened the participants on the aspects most relevant to their expectations, including: 1) trademarks, 2) industrial designs, 3) geographical indications, 4) patents, 4) professional secrets. He concluded with the focus of his presentation, namely 5) the major issues of intellectual property management in the institutions of research and economic development in Cameroon.

The ensuing discussions allowed the speaker to answer all questions posed by the participants.

It is important to note that CARBAP's TISC was installed in November 2018 by the Ministry of Mines, Industry and Technological Development (MINMIDT) and that this conference was part of its activities in 2019.
