As part of its COVID-19 response package, WIPO released the Patent Landscape Report on COVID-19-related vaccines and therapeutics in a virtual launch event held on 10 March 2022. The event, which was attended by over 700 participants representing 93 countries, featured opening remarks by the Director Generals of WIPO, WHO, and WTO, followed by a presentation of the key findings of the report.
A panel discussion was held next, where the panelists discussed recent developments in vaccine platforms and therapeutics, R&D partnerships, and how the patent system contributed to the pandemic response.
