The Patent Cooperation Yearly Review of 2022 is out and is available for download.

The report looks at key numbers in areas such as PCT national phase entries, PCT applications filed and the percentage share of women among PCT inventors.

The special theme covered in the report is 'How the COVID-19 crisis affected PCT application filings', which delves into the impact this crisis had on the global economy. It discusses, among other topics, how in spite of the crisis, the data showed on PCT application indicated an almost immediate uptick in patenting for health-related technologies.

The report also looks at where the PCT applications were generating from by reporting the global trends in PCT applications, PCT applications by receiving office and PCT applications by origin, to name a few.
