I would like to share with you some outputs of my work as IP Manager for a research centre.
Following the training I benefited from WIPO on IP Management, I made some proposals to my institutional leaders on that topic.
My institutional leaders were a bit reluctant at first instance, but they finally approved and endorsed my proposals. I am happy to notice that IP Management is now considered as an important component of the Management policy of our centre. We evolve in a competitive environment, and everybody now agrees that IP Management can provide input in monitoring our strengths and weaknesses and for securing our scientific patrimony.
Next week, I have two things to do: 1) organize a workshop to sensitize and train workers on IP issues for our reasearch Centre. And 2) conduct an IP Audit in view of drafting the IP policy for our Research Center.
