On November 24, 2023, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) took part in the International Forum on IP Finance “Sustainable IP Finance Ecosystem and the Future”, that took place in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
The IP Finance Forum brought together regional policymakers, senior executives from the financial and technology industries, and academics to discuss how the IP finance ecosystem could change the financial landscape and financing opportunities for IP owners.
Korea is at the forefront of enabling the use of IP and other intangibles to facilitate financing. This event featured several presentations on topics of relevance to intangible asset finance, such as global trends in IP finance, IP policy discussions of Korea, Japan and Singapore and case studies.
Our colleague, Mr. Michael Kos, was invited by the Presidential Council on Intellectual Property in Korea on this important topic, where he spoke on behalf of WIPO.
