IP management as part of the new standard on Innovation Management

Defining standards means creating common understanding and guidelines to avoid wrong behaviours and misleading beliefs. IP protection is just the legal perspective and if you really want to focus on innovation for creating any value an IP management strategy is needed and having a clear idea about how to articulate such a value, using different IP Rights and tools, considering all the social, political, economic, legislative,... features of a specific market, becomes crucial. The ISO Technical Committee ISO/TC279 is now working to develop the new ISO 50500 standard on Innovation Management and there will be a specific part on IP management. Check if your national organisations for standards are involved in the Committee as you could contribute to the IP Management work item development.
