The Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, in collaboration with the KAPILA initiative and the School Innovation Council, is organising a three-day online lecture session on intellectual property from 24 April 2026 to 26 April 2026. The session is held to celebrate World Intellectual Property Day and focuses on accelerating innovation through intellectual property commercialisation.
The event features expert speakers from various institutions. On 24 April 2026, Dr. Unnat Pandita from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry will speak on translating ideas into inventions, covering the journey from granted patent to commercialisation. Dr. Elangovan Kariappan from the Innovation Cell, AICTE, will also present on the KAPILA initiative. On 25 April 2026, Dr. P. V. Madhusudhan Rao from IIT Delhi will discuss driving India’s innovation journey from granted patents to global markets, and Mr. Joy Goswami from RF SUNY, New York, will address translating academic patents into market-ready innovations. On 26 April 2026, Prof. Gouri Gargate from IIT Kharagpur will deliver a session on patent to product commercialisation, including frameworks, opportunities, challenges, and case studies, while Mr. Pradeep Dhage from the Innovation Cell, AICTE, will explain technology commercialisation using Technology Readiness Levels and related practices.
The session takes place each day from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. A registered Indian patent agent and member of the WIPO eTISC community is sharing this information as a learning opportunity for other members.
