Michael has extensive experience in Knowledge and Technology Transfer (K/TT), working across diverse regions to help universities, governments, and innovation ecosystems to translate research into societal and economic impact. He focuses on developing institutional and national frameworks to improve innovation productivity and bridge the gap between research and commercialization.
At the institutional level, he has helped universities establish entrepreneurial infrastructure, including tech transfer offices and innovation centers.
At the policy level, Michael collaborates with government ministries such as those in charge of science and technology, education, economy, and industrial affairs as well as and innovation agencies to drive systemic change in IP and intellectual asset management and innovation policy, including drafting innovation laws.
Previously, a technology transfer manager at Oxford University Innovation (OUI) and later as a Director at Oxentia, formerly a division within OUI, Michael led initiatives to foster university-industry engagement, creating pathways for intellectual asset commercialization, research collaborations, and investment in university ventures.
He has mentored numerous entrepreneurs, particularly spinouts managing IP assets, helping them navigate commercialization and growth.
