Intellectual Property (IP) policies focus on the rules and procedures that outline how an organisation, institution or company handles IP that it creates. The policies define who owns what and further outlines how the IP is created, used, protected, and disseminated. It also highlights how any benefits generated from it are shared.
This ideology, of course, looks very good on paper. In reality, understanding how to effectively carve out the different pieces of the innovation pie, is a totally different hurdle.
